Ohana- Financial Empowerment
Ohana
Connect Mastercard to A New Generation of Users
Young people shy away from credit cards due to fear of credit and lack of understanding of credit’s long-term benefits. Their fear is justified: most are financially illiterate and lack a safe path to transition from relatively-harmless debit cards to full-fledged credit cards.
Ohana is a program which introduces teens to healthy credit habits under the direction of their parent or guardian. The program consists of a credit card & mobile app for the teen user and a mobile app & bank interface for their parent. Both fun and educational, Ohana builds over 2-4 years toward teens’ graduation onto a standard credit card from the Mastercard issuing bank.
